A very rare species that is said to be edible and to have medicinal properties similar to those of Syderitis syriaca and Sideritis scardica. As this plant is native to Portugal, where the climate is warm, it would be best to grow it in a pot and protect it from frost. However, well-established and well-developed plants grown in a rock garden can tolerate light, short frosts.
