This is perhaps one of the best varieties of mint: it has a very pleasant bergamot aroma! A drink made from its leaves tastes like Earl Grey tea with mint. It is recommended to grow this plant in a pot, as mint is an invasive species. Warning: mint is toxic to cats due to its high essential oil content. Most cats find the aroma of mint too strong and unpleasant. However, as a precaution, the pot containing the mint can be easily protected with a plastic net. The pot can also be hung up or placed in a higher location, out of reach of cats.
