This rare “golden mountain tea” is similar to Sideritis scardica, with a few differences. Its leaves are not silvery green, but light green or yellow-green. It grows less compactly and requires drier soil with excellent drainage. Its leaves have a very pleasant taste: the taste is slightly lighter and “fresher,” with subtle citrus notes. The drink prepared from this species is golden in color.
